VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

hIGH sCHOOL

In High School I chose not to get a job, but rather to pay attention to my studies and hobbies. This choice gave me the awesome opportunity to volunteer as much as I wanted to and I am very grateful for that chance.

4H Camp Counselor

In order to be a counselor I was required to attend monthly training meetings in order to prepare for 1 week of overnight camp. I was given the responsibility of managing campers on a daily basis as well as the additional opportunity of being a Cabin Leader where I was in charge of the orderliness, and safety of the campers over the night.

Public Library

From the end of Middle School throughout the beginning of High School I spent my summers at the local library either restacking books in the children's room and main library, or helping staff periodic larger events such as Comic Con at the end of the summer.

Football Manager

For three years of High School I spent my summer, after school hours, and occasional Saturday mornings as a manager for my High School's Varsity and Junior Varsity football teams. For the first year I spent my time handling water bottles (filling, cleanings, distributing, etc.) and washing and hanging uniforms after practices and games. The following two years I had the added responsibility of filming plays at practices and games; I spent my time on the press box roof and the end zone managing the camera.

CHurch Food Bank

As a the administrative assistant I was charged with typical office duties of filing, copying, and preparing the monthly paperwork for Salem United Methodist Church's monthly food bank. I held myself in professional and private manner as I was working with individual's personal information and with individuals who face scrutiny on a daily basis.
